Troubleshooting your RC Drone

FLYING REMOTE CONTROL, A DRONE IS FAST BECOMING A VERY POPULAR HOBBY. TO ENJOY FLYING YOUR DRONE LONGER, YOU MUST KEEP IT IN TOP CONDITION.

It is important to maintain your drone in proper working condition to prevent it from crashing or becoming damaged or broken. It is good practice to inspect all of the drone parts before the flight to make sure that it is installed properly and that all parts are tightly attached to avoid the drone from falling apart.

If you are hearing a strange noise coming from any of the servo motors, check to see if you have good electrical connections or if there is any kind of visible damage to the servos. In most cases, a poor wiring connection will be the culprit, but if all of your wirings is intact and there is no visible damage to the servo motors, the problem could be internal and the servo will need to be replaced. You should also check to see that the battery is fully charged and connected properly.

If you are having transmitter problems and you don’t think that the proper signals are being sent to the drone, check to make sure that the battery is fully charged and connected properly. Loose connections or a weak battery can cause many control problems that are easily corrected. Also, check the antenna if your controller has one. Make sure it is tight and not falling off.

As preventive maintenance or if you have any unexplained problems with your RC drone, perform an inspection of all helicopter parts making sure they are attached securely and that there is no damage to any of the parts. Some parts may require periodic adjustment or balancing to keep the drone from vibrating. Be sure to apply grease to any bearings that require it.

If you experience any problems with your drone during flight, slowly bring it to the ground if you are able to. Rushing to bring it down very quickly can cause damage to the helicopter since it makes it harder to control. If you do lose control of the trim adjustments, be sure to turn off the throttle right away allowing your drone to crash down to the ground rather than into a building or other structure that could break the blades. Avoid the temptation of flying the drone if you are aware that it is not in perfect working condition.
